Programs of Study

UA-Pulaski Technical College offers programs of study in technical/occupational education, university transfer, developmental studies, and continuing/community education. The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, Technical Certificates (TC), and Certificates of Proficiency (CP) are designed for employment purposes in technical and occupational fields. Students completing an AAS degree should not assume that the degree or courses for the degree will be accepted in transfer by another institution. While some institutions have accepted courses in the AAS programs, the general rule is that not all courses in AAS degrees are accepted in transfer toward baccalaureate degrees. Students who plan to transfer should get an assurance of transfer-credit acceptance in writing in advance from the institution to which they plan to transfer.

The Associate of Arts (AA) degree is a 60-credit hour transfer degree designed for transfer to a four- year institution.

The Associate of Science (AS) degree is a 60-credit hour transfer degree designed for students planning to seek a baccalaureate degree in liberal arts and sciences, business, and education, and technology and engineering. Many of the AS degrees are part of 2+2 agreements with various transfer institutions in Arkansas.

Arkansas Course Transfer System(ACTS)

The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and the equitable treatment in the application of credits for the admissions and degree requirements. ACTS may be accessed on the ACTS website: https://adhe.edu/students-parents/transfer-info-for-students.

*The Associate of General Studies (AGS) is a 60-hour degree designed to allow maximum exploration of courses by a student. It is not intended for students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree although some courses may be transferable.

**The General Studies Certificate recognizes the successful completion of 31 credit hours of general education core courses. This certificate documents the student’s mastery of the skills and competencies needed to be successful in the workforce and to pursue further education.

***This degree plan includes courses that are taught at another institution through a partnership agreement. The courses are transferred in from the partner institution and the general education courses are taken at UA-PTC to complete the AAS degree.

****This degree plan is offered as part of a consortial agreement with another institution. Please see the specific program for detailed information.
