Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate industry-standard safety practices.
- Identify and apply appropriate tools and tool maintenance procedures pertaining to HVACR industry.
- Apply mathematical principles and algorithms to HVACR systems including electrical and circuitry, Ohm’s Law, temperature-pressure calculations, air flow and other measurements.
- Identify and demonstrate the various tools of the HVACR trade and their proper usage.
- Correctly employ HVACR tools to test temperature pressure and electrical circuitry, measure and cut materials, attach/detach hoses and valves, evacuate and charge systems, perform efficiency checks and control adjustments.
- Correctly apply temperature pressure calculations and electrical circuit calculations and measurements in testing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVACR systems.
- Apply industry standard safety and environmental procedures to HVACR systems to include adding/removing refrigerant, charging/recharging systems, attaching/detaching hoses, during troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
- Employ a systematic troubleshooting approach to HVACR system malfunctions following industry standards and guidelines in order to develop the most effective repair solution.
The Associate of Applied Science degree provides the private sector with certified technicians. Graduates of the program may be employed as installers, service technicians, or system designers.
