Program Learning Outcomes
- Recognize safety hazards and potential safety issues and apply safe work practices and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards to safely handle tools, personal protective equipment, and a variety of materials used in manufacturing.
- Apply mathematical and geometrical concepts and procedures to measure basic manufacturing shapes using metric units.
- Communicate effectively, through both written and verbal form, in workplace scenarios using appropriate technical information within cultural and professional relationship contexts.
- Analyze a product for the purposes of the following: identifying the manufacturing process used; identifying similar products that could be manufactured from the same process; identifying the type of materials used; and to conduct reverse engineering processes.
- Apply accurate design methodology and use industry-standard software and machining tools to improve quality and production.
- Apply industry-standard techniques and the principals of quality control and management to manufacturing processes based on analysis of manufacturing requirements and given the end use of the product and operating conditions.
- Program, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot robots and robotics systems for industrial applications.
- Select industrial programs and integrate devices to create automated systems.
- Apply the operation, wiring, control of motors, drives, and hydraulic/pneumatic/photonics systems to automated and robotic manufacturing processes.
