Program Overview
The Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) program consists of 6 semester credits of coursework. This program is designed for individuals interested in becoming a licensed EMT, meeting the primary prerequisite for the paramedic program, pursuing a career in the fire service, or gaining foundational patient care skills for other health professions such as physician assistant or medicine.
Students must successfully complete all program requirements and have a final course grade of “B” in order to be eligible to challenge the EMT credentialing examination through the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) and become eligible for licensure as an EMT in Arkansas. EMT classes are held two days per week, and there is a $150 course fee.

Total 6 Credit Hours
A grade of “D”, “F”, or a mark of “U” or “NC” is not acceptable for progression to the next semester, nor is it acceptable for graduation if it occurs in the last semester of the program. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required to earn the degree. |
