The Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology Program, located at the Main UA - Pulaski Tech Campus in North Little Rock, is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills for all areas of the operating room, labor & delivery, and outpatient surgery centers. Upon successful program completion, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Surgical Technologist Exam. Successful completion of the program does not ensure certification. The Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Admission to the Surgical Tech Program is competitive and based on the following factors: Students are selected after November 15th, based on a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher from all high school/college transcripts and an interview process. Each item is given a score and ranked highest to lowest. The program accepts 20 full-time students each academic year.

  • This degree requires successful completion of 60 credit hours.
  • A drug screen and background check will be required of all selected students.
  • The Surgical Technology Program requires a “C” or better to continue in the professional program, and a minimum 2.0 GPA is required for graduation.
  • Satisfaction of all financial obligations due to the institution is required for graduation.
  • Please note: additional prerequsite courses may be required if minimum placement test scores are not met.
