Program Overview
The Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Development contains courses in curriculum development and child behavior. Some of these courses are designed to meet the mandatory competencies for the Birth through Pre-Kindergarten Teaching Credential required by Act 187, passed by the Arkansas Legislature during the 2009 session.
Students must obtain cleared criminal, FBI, and child maltreatment registry checks and a UA-PTC Education ID badge prior to enrollment in ECD and ECTC courses.

The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and equitable treatment in the application of credits for admissions and degree requirements. Degree Requirements
-This degree requires successful completion of 33 credit hours.
-A minimum 2.00 cumulative grade-point average required for graduation.
-Students must earn a grade of “C” or better in all courses taken to satisfy the TC in Early Childhood Development.
-This program of study includes special program fees beyond current tuition and college fees.
-Satisfaction of all financial obligations due to the college is required for graduation.
-Please note: additional prerequisite courses may be required if minimum placement test scores are not met.
